I got involved with MMRF 13 years ago as a brother of a patient (Jeff Goad). MMRF has enabled my brother to get his life back after the diagnosis he received 13 years ago. I joined the Road to Victories during the Vermont ride along with Jeff and one of our other brothers, David. It is important for family members to help support one another, and I enjoy the friendship created with all the other families involved in Road to Victories. I am looking forward to meeting the new participants this year as well as having a reunion with teammates from last year in Maine. I have been training for this event on mostly flat roads with a smattering of some hills in the Midwest. I do feel ready though and will help my brother Jeff climb those hills. My brother Jeff still inspires me through his whole dealing with this cancer and is now in full remission. I have lost count of actual events that I have participated in for MMRF, but it has been several marathons, and now this will be the third Road to Victories ride for me. One mile at a time, one hill at a time, one dollar at a time!
